Handheld Smart Card Reader (Contactless Version)

This PIN-Pad smart card reader offers better and longer performance and operates under lower energy than its predecessor, ACR88. With its 32-bit MCU, keypad, LCD, bi-color LED, buzzer, rechargeable battery and large programmable memory, it can handle the requirements of demanding smart card applications. It can operate on PC-Linked and Standalone modes, making it suitable for both office and field settings. The ACR89U-A2 supports both contact and contactless cards. It can also come with a thermal printer (upon request) to increase transparency and efficiency in recordkeeping.

About ACR89U-A2

ACR89U-A2 is a handheld smart card reader with NFC tag support. Primarily designed for a multi-application environment, it can access any contact and contactless smart card following the ISO7816 and ISO14443 standards. This portable pinpad reader has a dual smart card interface and a contactless card reader module. It runs with 32-bit MCU, and has LED indicators, 128 x 64 high-resolution graphical LCD, buzzer, rechargeable battery and large programmable memory. Through these features, it enables users to perform secure smart card transactions in both in-house and field environments.

ACR89U-A2 comes from the ACR89 series which provides the unique advantage of having two modes—PC-linked and Standalone—to cater to unique user requirements. For its PC-linked mode, it connects to the PC via its USB cable; while for its Standalone mode, it uses its Lithium Ion Battery to run wirelessly. It also comes with a serial Interface port that enables connection to other peripherals. It can provide optimal solution with additional thermal printer support.

Being CCID-compliant, ACR89U-A2 has a plug-and-play solution that facilitates ease of use and installation. Users can also build their own standalone applications through its multi-tasking environment using Free RTOS Kernel and C-language. Firmware upgradeable, ACR89 is suitable for existing and future smart card applications.

ACR89U-A2\ Handheld Smart Card Reader Software Development Kit

The ACR89U-A2 Handheld Smart Card Reader with NFC tag support provides a secure and cost-effective solution for implementing smart card applications. It may be used to access contact and contactless cards following the ISO 7816 and ISO 14443 standards. This portable, dual interface PIN-pad reader with contactless card reader module runs a 32bit-MCU. It also has a built-in keypad, 128x64 LCD, LED indicators, buzzer, dual full-sized contact card slots, and 3 SAM slots. Furthermore, it comes with a USB cable for its PC-linked mode, and Lithium-ion battery for its Standalone mode.

ACR89U-A2 comes with a complete Software Development Kit (SDK), which contains vital components for the development of customized smart card applications. The SDK provides sample applications, tools and utilities, and sample codes, enabling users to conveniently and effectively incorporate ACR89U-A2 into their solutions.
